THE FALL - new TV crime show - SBS had a 2 part opener a few days ago - it is being repeated NOW at this moment, just started. I can recommend it - about 2 hrs. There are 3 more eps to go. The villain is very cleverly unusual. He is an apparently very nice family man, really affectionate with his little kids, and is good looking (Im gay, so notice - do you agree girls? ;-) ). So you keep feeling he should be nice - at first I thought he cant be. I am not spoiling it as he was revealed in the opening shots (which I actually missed earlier when this was on a few days ago) - but he is a perverted bastard underneath! Clever reversal of expectations. And the fact his identity is NOT a secret (from the viewers) is also clever. They have to keep you interested, even AFTER giving away the conclusion that is usually the main secret in most other crime shows. So I have no idea how its going to keep up the pace and grip - be interesting to see. Try it. Gillian Anderson is the star - and she is very good as a very driven cop who can see links that the other blockheads cant (why they cant is a mystery to me, her opinions were the pretty obvious ones in my view as I watched!)
