Revelation 6:8 If you ever wondered why Doomsday Preppers exist today, read Revelation. What could bring about such a monumental catastrophe, like the death of 1.8 billion people today (25% of 7.1 billion)? Two things in particular could quickly and easily escalate to usher in such loss of life. The first is the fairly recent and continuing, devastating loss of pollenating bees and other vital insects. According to a 2013 science report, three-quarters of the world’s food crops depend on pollination. But disease and pesticides have decimated honeybee colonies by one-half, as well as one-half of all other insect pollinators, which appear to be more important than bees. Any further degradation of insects will result in famine and, consequently, wars over food (death by sword). Without food, wild beasts would turn into hunters of other beasts and even people. The second issue that could usher in such death is a return to the pre-antibiotic era. Antibiotics used in humans and in animals grown for our food consumption cause bacteria to become resistant to treatment. If science loses the race it started and cannot stay one step ahead of antimicrobial-resistance our ability to treat various diseases, such as: tuberculosis, salmonella, gonorrhea, C. difficile and Streptococcus, will come to an end. Thus, pestilences would result in hundreds of millions of deaths worldwide. The chaos that would ensue would put us all at risk for world governments to seek dictatorial control of people, food, water rights, nuclear arsenals and territories that ultimately would lead to civil and international wars that give Death and Hades more victims, and even create a worldwide environment for the demand that all people receive the mark of the beast in order to buy and sell everything.
