THE FIRE OF HIS INSPIRATION Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the LORD are right, and the righteous will walk in them, but transgressors will stumble in them. (Hosea 14:9) The things Hosea wants others to understand and discern are, generally speaking, the ways of the world versus the ways of God and who God is—“the ways of the Lord are right”. Those who are wise, discerning, and righteous of heart and mind will continually follow and imperfectly walk the roads belonging to God. They will occasionally faint, fall, or be weak and waver or stumble, but are not like those who continually transgress by walking the roads belonging to the world.
