THE FLIP SIDE OF THE 4 DOLLAR CHINESE RESTAURANT CAPER The interwebs have spoken, and we mostly think Edelman was a douche not so much for calling the restaurant out for charging him more than their website indicated but for the tone and manner in which he handled it. While this isnt as much of a David v. Goliath issue as the media have made it out to be (the restaurant owner is a quite successful businessman and a minor celeb in the food world), the author of this piece thinks the world needs more Edelmans who are willing to take all sizes of businesses to task for cheating the consumer. Comments run the gamut from those clearly siding with Edelman, bemoaning the anti-intellectualism of those who fail to see the good Edelman is doing his Ivy League status notwithstanding, to those who excuse the restaurant altogether for what theyve come to expect as restaurant industry SOP and laud Duans grand media stand against the privileged Ivy League douchebagbully who is Edelman. As you might already know, Edelman has now apologized. Best comment ever? The hard part about apologizing to a Chinese restaurant is that an hour later you want to apologize again.
