THE FRIDAY PEOPLE© A poem by David Bentata - Gibraltar 06.07.10 Another dawn, another day of fervor & national glory Another bomb another death It’s the FRIDAY Peoples story. The SATURDAY People suffer Yet another act by the squads of Allah “By the Prophet!” comes the cry As more souls are sent to Valhalla The SUNDAY People, scared and pale Prefer to aid the carnage Disguising it as Human Help They feed the FRIDAY People’s rage Little do the SUNDAY People know That they are next in line For once the SATURDAY ones are gone It will be their turn to read the sign The death warrant they help to write With under-hand and blinded eye then Has SUNDAY writ in letters large With FRIDAY’S gory, bloodied pen.
