THE FRONT PAGE: Two men were found shot to death just after the official start of Christmas Day - police were called to the Dawson Apartments in Forrest City where they found 38 year-old Kendrick Smith and 42 year-old Gary Thomas dead in a car. 24 year-old Markell Jimmerson was charged with with two counts of first degree murder after police found his car on its roof in a ditch... Aleasha Cox was arrested Christmas Eve after she admitted to being involved in the death of Cleate Davis - he’s the man who’s body was found burned in a truck on Muddville Road, and police are now on the hunt for her boyfriend Morrieo Allen. A witness told detectives he stopped on Mudville Road and not only saw the truck on fire - one of the two had told him they burnt it, then took off... A woman in East Memphis spent her Christmas morning in the emergency room after her boyfriend slashed her face and hands with a box cutter, which took 43 stitches. Police arent sure why Andre Savage attacked her. The two live together on Cherry Street and have a kid together - neighbors dont want to get involved because the couple had only been there for a month and already there’s been problems with the two - they’re afraid Savage may come after them next… Police are looking for a guy who they believe shot at people outside a Family Dollar store in North Memphis Monday night. Cameras caught him running away seconds after the shooting. A witness was sitting in his girlfriends car in the parking lot when all of a sudden a stranger with a skull cap pulled out a gun and started shooting; thankfully no one was hurt... The numbers are in - it’s official! Major violent crime is up in Shelby County, and murder rates have jumped the highest in both the city and the county. About 130 murders, 320 rapes, 6,900 aggravated assault calls, and 3,000 robberies. The most shocking is the murder rate, which is up 17 percent from last year. In fact, the only violent crime that dropped was rape. People living in Memphis say it’s a war zone... AAA wants to remind everyone about their Tow to Go Program - It’s year 17 for the program.
