THE FRUIT MARKET Copyright Pamela M. Jones 2/2/2014 I went to the market To buy some fruit What did I see? Standing right in front of me I saw, oranges and apples Kiwi fruit and pears Some were sold single Some were in pairs Pineapples, blueberries Raspberries blackberries Sharon fruit is orange, Tangerines too All of them scrumptious Now what do I do? There are bananas and strawberries Wimberries too But when you eat them, They make your tongue blue Cherries, lemons and peaches Fuzzy like a baby’s skin Nectarines you sink teeth in All juicy and ripe So squirty and squidgy Your mouth you must wipe Grapes of all colours Green, red and black Pumpkins and melons With seeds that are black Pomegranates’ with seeds You pick out with a pin Now what shall I buy? Where do I begin?
