“THE FUTURE IS ALWAYS BRIGHT” Yesterday I shared a few thoughts from the Prophet Habakkuk and his words written in chapter two. I haven’t been able to leave this terrific book as it continues to draw me back for more reading. It is amazing how words written sometime between 612 and 588 BC are so relevant today. But then, this is God’s Word we are talking about and it is always up to date. Keep in mind, it’s this Book that proclaims Jesus Christ, “The same yesterday, today and forever.” Just as Jesus never changes, God’s Word never changes. The power and authority of God’s Word continues to convict, challenge, direct, inspire and give us courage to face another day. Read It, claim It, stand on It and live It!! You will sense God’s love and power within your soul that will protect you from that which you feel may harm you. In Chapter One we read about Habakkuk receiving a vision from the Lord. He cries out. “How long, O Lord, must I call for help? But you do not listen!” (vs1&2). He goes on to complain, “’VIOLENCE! MUST I FOREVER SEE THIS SIN AND MISERY ALL AROUND ME? WHEREVER I LOOK, I SEE DESTRUCTION AND VIOLENCE. I AM SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE WHO LOVE TO ARGUE AND FIGHT.’” Habakkuk 1:2&3 (NLT) I wonder how many are reading this early in the morning and have already shuddered because you are not anticipating a very good day. There are people around that appear their goal in life is to make you miserable. They are filled with envy and jealously and hatred. It’s not who they are, but what they are that is the reason they act the way they do. Keep in mind, they make life difficult, but Jesus loves them as much as He loves you. Consider the fact that the only Jesus this person or persons will ever see is in you. You have been fighting the good fight and have even been knocked flat a few times. It’s OK to get knocked down, but get back up. You may lose a battle here and there, but win the war! It’s easy to wonder if this battle is worth fighting. When the battle is over, God will lead you out of the conflict. Well, you’ve read the first two verses as Habakkuk cried out to the Lord, don’t put this down until you read the Lord’s reply: “WATCH AND BE ASTOUNDED AT WHAT I WILL DO! FOR I AM DOING SOMETHING YOU WOULDN’T BELIEVE EVEN IF SOMEONE TOLD YOU ABOUT IT.” Hab. 1:5 (NLT) The Lord said, “Watch,…for I am doing something…”. God is working in your behalf whether you realize it or not. Watch…keep looking for when God is in something the future is always bright. He is not only with you, He is fighting the battle for you!!
