THE GIFT OF ABUNDANT LIFE -Stella Dhinakaran I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) Dearly beloved, The Lord says, “Instead of their shame my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace they will rejoice in their inheritance; and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs” (Isaiah 61:7). Many undergo shame and humiliations in their personal as well as family lives because of the works of the devil. They become dejected wondering, “Is my life over?” Let us see whether success can be tasted in such a life filled with dejection. The Lord had made perfect arrangements for the early man Adam to live in all comfort in the Garden of Eden along with his wife Eve. The Lord appeared to them now and then and led them in a blessed way with no lack (Genesis 3:8). But, satan, the devil, made devious designs against them in order to spoil their good life. Eve fell a prey to his snare and also made her husband to yield to sin. Satan made them disobey the Word of God and thus prevented them from enjoying the peaceful and joyous atmosphere that God had ordained for them. The wrath of God came down on them because of their disobedience. They came to the pitiable state of being driven out of that glorious and blessed place. Today, the devil brings such trials in the lives of those who are close to the Lord in order to bring them out of their fellowship with Him and out of His presence and destroy them. This is the plan of the devil. Dear ones, honour God and His Word instead of giving room to unbelief and disobedience. Examine yourself as to how your life is. There is no use in asking, “Why this suffering in my life? Why did the Lord allow this?” So let us analyze how to receive the blessing of the Lord. Apostle Paul says, “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well” (III John 2). This is the plan of the Lord concerning us. Lord Jesus says, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). The Lord wants us to have eternal and abundant life. So abide in God through prayer and Bible reading. He shall deliver you and protect you and grant you a blessed life. Prayer: Loving Lord Jesus, You came to give us abundant life. I choose to obey your Word and abide in You. Please deliver me from the oppression of the devil. Enable me to inherit a double portion of your blessing. May I receive double honour instead of my disgrace. Grant me abundant life. In Your matchless name I pray. Amen.
