THE GOOD NEWS - DAY ONE, WEEK TWO Our County Cork reporter has just brought us this update from a mountain gorge not far from Mitchelstown. Due to unavoidable circumstances I have been unable to send any reports from this beautiful wooded area until now. As you can see from the photos this is a lovely area known as the Galtee Castle Woods. Very few tourists even know of this area. Most drive by on their way to Killarney and the South West with its rugged beauty. I did not meet another soul on my hour-long walk along the floor of the gorge. I used the time here to absorb the sound of birdsong, the rustling of the wind in the trees and the laughter of the mountain stream as the water tickled the rocks in its path. The sound of running water follows anyone who walks these paths and all the loveliness flooding the senses has a thoroughly wonderful effect on the soul. Spread the joy.
