THE GOOD WIFE * INSERT 28 * LILITHA: daddy what are you saying this is mommy njena.. ME: no its not. *I took Lilitha by the hand and covered her eyes with my other hand telling her to...* ME: look away, masambhe UNKNOWN MAN: sir are you sure that this is not your wife. ME: 100% sure, I married her right, so I should know her, that is definitely not my wife... and this woman does not appear as if she fell off a building...she looks very pale. UNKNOWN MAN: well sir at first we assumed that she did fell off a building because we had found her outside with the side of her face placed flat down as if she fell off... but in the few minutes in which we examined her, it looks like she drowned in water. ME: but when my daughter and I arrived here we were told that you dont allow children to see the dead, when its suicide. LILITHA: suicide?! ME: ssshh..dont worry about that angel. *It seemed as if Lilitha never heard the other men when they said the word suicide, because she was still emotional in her own zone of wanting to see her so called mother* UNKNOWN MAN: no, no...maybe those other men had forgot to tell you that we examined this woman, it appears to say that she was drowned and probably placed outside as if she had fallen out of a building. But I cant share munch information with you on that, you will have to speak with the police. Are you sure you are looking for a woman named miss Sobhoza? ME: Sobhoza? No sir, its either Lelethu Booi or her home surname. UNKNOWN MAN: isnt it Sobhoza? ME: no its....eish I forgot it my head is spinning with so much confusion right now.. UNKNOWN MAN: arent you maybe traumatized by your wifes death that you cant even recognize her just because you are overwhelmed by her sudden death and... ME: hey! Hey! I am not crazy! I know my wife! masambhe Lili mntanam. LILITHA: no but I want to hug her for the last time.. *I pulled her and we walked out, she was crying and that blady man kept calling out saying he still needs to talk to me but I ignored him. There was no way was I going to put my daughter through false hurt and misery because that was not her mother. I was so mad because I felt puncked...I felt like a fool. I was pulling Lilitha out of that building and we climbed in the car, I locked the doors and I dialed Zolanis number* ZOLANI: yha?... ME: what is this game that you people are playing? ZOLANI: excuse me? ME: I drive all the way to come see a woman named miss Sobhoza..who the hell is that? ZOLANI: your wife of course ME: what is that suppose to mean? ZOLANI: Sobhoza is her mothers surname.. ME: hey maarn suxoka andisisbhanxa wena Zola maarn...that poor woman who is laying there is not my wife, you people busy playing your sick games here while my child is disturbed about the issue. ZOLANI: if your child could identify her own mother and you couldnt...then there is definitely something wrong with you! *He hangs up! Am I going crazy? Or are they really playing some sick game to me, this is so like Lelethu so I wouldnt put her far on this stupid game, but to put her child through this was wrong...and Zolani yena? heeee I guess friends are never true friends until their loyalty is tested, but then again...why would he side with me and leave his sister in-law and wife hanging? So who am I to complain* LILITHA: daddy...was that uncle Zolani? ME: yes...(deep sigh) LILITHA: what is going on dad? Why couldnt you notice mommy, I mean it was her right? ME: I dont know baby, I really dont know. LILITHA: (her face lights up) I know!!! ME: what my love? LILITHA: lets go home, to our real home and see if mommy is not there na, maybe it was all a misunderstanding, maybe uncle Zola made a huge mistake of mixing things up with someone else.. ME: (I softly whisper to myself) Or maybe he is making a damn fool out of me. LILITHA: huh? ME: nothing baby...great idea. Lets go and make our visit there but please I dont want you to get your hopes up for nothing...prepare for the worst. LILITHA: its fine daddy, Ill try to handle it.. ME: good, lets go...put your seatbelt on.. *I buckled up and she did the same and we drove to Lelethus house. On the way I was so mad, a lot of thoughts were running through my mind, I was thinking...if I ever find out the truth, what am I going to do and who exactly am I going to do what to....I drove in so much speed that Lilitha told me to slow down. Finally we reached there and the door was open with police outside and everything. That yard was filled with people that I didnt know of* *I told Lilitha to stay in the car so I can go find out what was going on, was it true? my wife is dead? If so, what the hell were these people doing in our house, why were they not at the crime scene. A police man came rushing towards me* POLICE MAN: Im sorry sir but can I help you? Ungubani? ME: my name is Xolani...I mean Mxolisi Booi, this is my home...where is my wife? POLICE: is your wife Lelethu Booi? ME: yes, where is she? POLICE MAN: sir your wife has been taken down to the police station for questioning.. ME: but I thought shes.... never mind. Questioning? what questioning? POLICE MAN: your wife is a suspect for killing a woman named Lulama....do you know her?
