THE GOSPEL In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Adam was created spiritually alive w/o defect. God gave Adam one condition. Do not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil because on the day you eats from it you will surely die. Adam disobeyed God and ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil because he believe the snake lie that God was holding out on him. His act brought sin into the world and the punishment of spiritual and physical death which was spread to all mankind. And because of his disobedience God has a problem with me because I have committed sins or crimes against Him in my thoughts, words and deeds. God is righteous and perfect and cannot accept me the way I am. God is just and must punish every sin I have committed or will commit. The punishment is death, eternal separation from God and all that is good. There is nothing I can do to make myself acceptable to God. God is love and in His love He provided a substitute, someone to take the punishment for me. No one on earth could do the job and therefore God the Father sent God the Son to the earth to become a man. Jesus is God the Son who became a man, lived a perfect life, and allowed Himself to be arrested, tried, convicted and hung on the cross. As Jesus was hanging on the cross, God the Father, knowing all about me, took all of my sins and put them on Jesus and PUNISHED Him in my place and in doing that Jesus took the wrath of God I deserve. Jesus died, His body was placed in a tomb, but on the third day, after paying for all of my sins, He came back from the dead, never to die again.Jesus offers forgiveness and the gift of eternal life with Himself to those who trust Him to save them from sin and eternal condemnation and to a new life lived with and for Him.
