THE GOSPEL TRUTH (39) Establishing the Kingdom of God “And in the days of these kings shall the God of Heaven set up a Kingdom which shall never be destroyed …… but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever “ – Dan.2 : 44 “ From that time Jesus began to Preach and to say, Repent : for the Kingdom of God is at hand” – Matt. 4:17 Since the fall of Adam , sinful men have tried to perpetuate the reign of darkness over the earth.God revealed to King Nebuchadnezzar through a strange vision (interpreted by Daniel ) that the Kingdom of God which for the moment looks small, weak and insignificant will overthrow and rule over the kingdoms of this earth. Jesus started preaching by announcing that the Kingdom of Heaven has come and went ahead to declare that “ the Kingdom of Heaven suffereth violence and the violent take it by force “- Matt. 11 : 12 The Kingdom of God is the righteous rule of God over the lives of men on earth. It will not be secured by negotiation or diplomacy but by violence. Fortunately, Jesus Christ by His death and resurrection defeated Satan and recovered the glory and power of God’s presence for the Church. Consequently, God wants to raise a generation of men, youths, teachers, preachers, professionals, politicians, technicians etc who will be violent against sin, against immorality, against corruption and all forms of perverseness around us today, and stand with Him to ensure that His Kingdom rule over all, even on Earth. In the Bible , people of God like Joseph, Daniel, Modecai, Esther, Deborah, John the Baptist and the Apostles of Christ stood their grounds and challenged darkness until the Kingdom of God was established in their own generation. It is not well with us as a body of God’s people. We seemed to have expended much time and resources building the Kingdom of this world instead of preaching Christ. We are losing the boldness to confront sin on our pulpits and congregations. We need to gather to cry to the Lord for mercy and re-focus. Please, endeavour to attend this retreat and come praying. Invite and encourage others to come.We cannot afford to disappoint the Lord at this time.
