THE GOVERNOR OF BAYELSA STATE HON.HENRY SERIAKE DICKSON HELD AN INTERACTION SECTION WITH THE BAYELSA YOUTH DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE YESTERDAY AT BANQUET HALL GOVERNMENT HOUSE YENAGOA. The Governor Hon, Henry Seriake Dickson held an interaction section with the Bayelsa youth Development Committee yesterday at banquet hall government house. During the interaction section, His Excellency promised the youth on an empowerment program that is about to be unveiled by the restoration Government. That program will de design as that of the SURE-P program from the federal government to empower the youth that has no livelihood or sustainability. The Commissioner for youth development Hon, Akpoebide Alamieyeseigha who as well spoke and advice the youth to avoid violence and embrace peace and development on to be a better persons and to support the restoration Government to achieve its goal. The commissioner pleaded with the Bayelsa youth developmental committee to go around the various LGAs to preach the good gospel of the restoration agenda for all Bayelsa youth, He said this committee is expected to talk and persuade those in the villages to have a better way of living instead of indulging in some risky and unhealthy dealings that might probably take their lives or put them into dangers etc. Mr. Bright Igurubia the National youth council chairman who also poured out his appreciations and advice during the interaction section, that the interaction program is for a sensitization and to educate the youths in the state. He also implored the youths in the state to be fully involved in every positive steps of the restoration agenda on how to create peace, stability and security in the state. Mr. Bright furthermore suggested that each of the eight local government area should have a town hall meeting quarterly or an annually , giving every youth the opportunity and the euphoria to interact with this body (BYDC) face to face and to enable them speak for themselves because in some LGA all what we hear is sea pirate, some indulges in theft ,some in cultism, pipeline vandalization and some are really enclosed in self-esteem, not actually knowing or discovered what they can do. So with this idea the committee will also have the enablement to focus on their goals and targets. Mr., Bright also happily stated that indeed this government is a youthful government .that the youth has massively benefited in the restoration government. He said this is the only administration that has provided so many opportunities and offices for the youth in Bayalsa state. Presently there an office for rehabilitation, empowerment and training, there are eight SSAs to the governor on empowerment development from the eight LGA and now the Bayelsa youth development committee and many are yet to be unfolded. In addition, Mr. Igurubia confirmed that most of the political appointees are between the age bracket of 18-35 which is a very good pass mark of success of youths empowerment and development in the state. Consequently Mr. bright urges all Bayelsa youths to support the restoration agenda to bring these expected changes in the state and in the area of empowerment and development.
