THE GUARD AND A GLASS OF GULAMAN Having skipped breakfast and lunch, the mans head began to spin at 2:00 pm. He realized that he arrived in the mall 30 minutes ahead of his scheduled client meeting. Sometimes clients offer food, sometimes they dont - so he decided to eat something quick -- he went for Master Siomai. After gulping 1 large puso and 4 siomai, a security guard approached the siomai booth. Guard: tagpila ang gulaman? Vendor: tag.kinse chief... **guard began counting his coins** Guard: ay sunod na lang, kuwang ako kwarta. The guard went back to his station, a few meters from the siomai booth where the man was eating. Something stirred inside the man... His heart melted in sadness... The guard unable to have something to drink when he needed to -- disturbed the man greatly. The guard who ensured everyones safety and even put his life on the line was in need of something so simple --- a drink -- and he couldnt get one. After eating, the man paid his bill plus an extra P15. Vendor: sir sobra sir Man: gai pa ko lain gulaman miga, nya palihug ko ug hatag sa security guard The vendor gave an approving smile. As the vendor filled the glass with gulaman, she called the guard. By the time the guard reached the siomai booth, the man was long gone...
