(Independence is a virgin harlot) They urged us to fight Die protecting our rights We forgot our women Forward forever, we ran Deep into the depths of forests With chants of Till Its Done, No Rest! Out we came Wild with desires to tame Our hairs, growing out of ears and noses We met grandwomen, our youthful roses Their bones aching Almost breaking Meaning no love making After the hard fighting. We accepted and moved on For we loved the new dawn Freedom was in the air Prices would be fair Independence was the song Day and night long. They made us believe We had achieved Democracy (A fallacy) You will elect your leaders Through the ballot boxes...
