THE HOBO IS MY INSPIRATIONAL HERO 🎄My 2014 Christmas story: Gods hidden angel 🎄 There is this man who has been living on the streets in our neighborhood for at least 6 years, since Ive noticed him. He is truly amazing. Heres why... He walks around all day for miles, and I do mean miles, in every harsh weather conditions and has never given up. I know he is homeless. In the Summer, he reeks, even from 50 yards away when we walk the same areas, I could smell his foul odor: that means his opporunity to shower are very limited. In the Winter, I have no idea how he survives, seriously, but I have seen him huddled in his thick coat and blankets. It blows my mind. As I do my weekly tasks driving in my car, I see him walking everywhere in our large city, carrying his precious very heavy cargo over his slumped back and shoulders. This man has incredible strength to carry his heavy load and to walk around for miles, every day. I guestimate he must walk at least 25 miles, every day. Yes, Im not kidding, 25 miles every day. It saddens me he still has not found a warm solid place to live, after 6 years that Ive first noticed him. To see him walk around different parts of the city we live in, he never gives up, no matter what. Every time I see him, I can read his body language and his face that he keeps searching for inner strength to keep him going. What a hero he is, to find ways to stay alive on the streets, with the risks of crime and harsh weather being a constant challenge. Every time I see, I promise myself that I would help him. Today, my opportunity came! He happened to walk near my car as I was driving away from the banks drive-thru, and I stopped my car to get his attention. Needless to say, I was excited to finally meet him and give him something he could really use. I was a bit apprehensive about him possibly being aggressive in any way: after all, Im sure he gets harassed enough, so I would understand if he reacted to us calling for his attention. I took that chance, because my instinct never lead me wrong: I was right again! My husband called him over and he responded immediately. He was actually soft spoken and said Yes? I gave him our $60, and my husband said, Merry Christmas, sir. I was too shy to say anything and I was intrigued by his presence. He said Thank you in his soft spoken voice. I rolled up my window, and we watched him walk away. After a few steps, he stopped and just looked at the money. Just looked at it and turned to look at us. I wish I could have seen his face underneath his heavily torn coat, but something tells me, he was happy to see somebody does cared. I do. And I cried. Please remember to give this Christmas. If you can buy a gift, buy one for the homeless and the animals in shelters. They need hope and love, too. Thank you for reading my Christmas story and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends 💜👪🎄
