THE IMPERATIVE OF WORKING OUT PEACE IN OUR TIME FOR THE SAKE OF FUTURE GENERATION AND POSTERITY. I was having a discussion with a Muslim friend yesterday and something stroke me as we discussed,and I got really scared. I realised when growing up, I use to attend islamiyat with kids of our Muslim neighbors and they as well attended various Church services with us as well as harveste and thanksgiving programmes. Then in my house ,it use to be a behive of visitors be it Christian or Muslim,as long as you are from Plateau or North my family welcomes such guests that needs succor or assistance,I dont know why its always my Dad,but we were that cosmopolitant. Today I still maintain those relationship with many of those friends whom are Muslims and some even are Christian converts without much ado from either family or friends. My fear actually is drawn from the fact that some of us that enjoyed this cordial relationship amongst tribes,language and religion are the same few who have caused so many harm to the future generation who may not have experienced this mutual trust and love and may in the long run never experience it if care is not taking. Has any one observed how our views are on social media? We have thrown rationality, conscience and credibility to the dogs all in the name of religion intolerance,tribe and ethnic sentiments. Check out many settlements in Jos today,it is divided on Christian Muslim grounds or angwan hausawa or sabon gari as the case may be in the far North. Now, with this kind of distance and unusual way of settling what will our children tell of the other oside of the divide? What story will Will a Christian brother or Muslim speak of others when they no longer cohabit? It means therefore that some day soon,we may no longer find some one who will defend,hide or protect his Christian or Muslim brother from attackers because of the long time love lost they had. Now that our settlements are segregated and we see other sides as enemies it will become so easy to instigate innocent youth to go after his brother because there already exist a mindset of hate amongst these groups. We have a time bomb waiting to explode, I may not experience this but soon,it will hit,its the same problem the Palestinians and Israelis are having amongst them selves, a world of fences from within and in the physical.this generation that caused this should work hard to correct this anomalies,cause it seem to me the future generation may find it difficult to handle cause of serious suspicions. I encourage the maintenance of unity school,control of extremist sermons and a serious clampdown on such preachers,leaders and or politicians Good morning.....And may the peace of Christ Jesus be on you all
