THE IMPORTANCE OF INCARNATION: GOD IN FLESH Its important - TopicsExpress

THE IMPORTANCE OF INCARNATION: GOD IN FLESH Its important because it is crucial to our salvation. Ever since from the fall of man there came alienation due to sin; there was enemity between man and God. There was a gap between humanity and divinity (Alienation and enemity). Man had not only been Spiritually Separated from God but he became a positive enemy of God. Eph. 2:1 -3; Rom. 5:10 -11; Jn. 3:18. God is too powerful an enemy for anybody to have it is the greatest of all risks to be a non Christian. This alienation and enemity had to be dealt with and this was only possible through incarnation of Jesus Christ. This is called for reconciliation. Man was alienation from God, he could no longer understand the things of God and now there was enemity. Incarnation is very important for mediation. 2 Tim. 2:5; Jesus qualified to be a mediator because he was both God (divine) and man (human). He knew the requirement of God and the needs of man who was an enemy of God.u (Jn.1:12). Because there was both divinity and humanity in Christ, thats why we are able to be reconsiled and become sons of God. We have an access to God (Eph. 2:18). It is important for our adoption (Rom. 8:15) We can call God Aba Father. NB: Benefits We can relate to God well. We have an access to God. We are sons of God. We can call God Aba Father. Conclusion If Jesus was not really one of us, if complete humanity, had not been united with deity, then We cannot be saved since what Christ did on the cross would not apply to us and we would have no good news to preach. This week we are reminded of this noble truth of incarnation - God become man, immanuel
