THE IMPORTANCE OF VALUING PARENTS The majlis began by - TopicsExpress

THE IMPORTANCE OF VALUING PARENTS The majlis began by highlighting of the unwearvering and unconditional love of the messenger of Allah sallahu alihi wasallam for his ummah. It was mentioned once when the beloved son of the Prophet sallahu alihi wa sallam passed away, Ibrahim RA. The mother of the believers, Syyida Maria RA had asked the Prophet Sallahu alihi wasallam to make the one special dua that is granted to all the prophets, for the safe wellbeing of Ibrahim RA in the hereafter. In responce the Prophet Sallahu alihi wasallam had answered this was a dua reserved for the Ummah in its most dire need on the Day of Judgement, it will be used then to ask for forgivness for those whom Allah wills. He Sallahu alihi wasallam went to illustrate how despite being out numbered on Badr, Uhud and other battles of the Prophet Sallahu alihi wasallam, he did not use this special dua. However, he mentioned instead that Ibrahim RA was safe in the hereafter and in fact playing in paradise with the Hoor al Ayn. After all the hardships, sacrifice, difficulties and unimaginable pain they had to endure, the Pophet Sallahu alihi wasallam still reserved the dua to be used for the ummah on the day of judgement. Another example was given of how when on the blessed blood was spilt of Prophet Sallahu alihiw asallam on the battle of Uhud. At the time when the Prophet Sallahu alihi wasallam lost one of his tooth and other parts of his blessed body was bruised, badly cut, harmed and savaged. Despite his state he was in, he tried his utmost best to make sure not a single drop of his blood fell to the ground. As it is the redline of Allah that when the blood of one of his prophets is spilt and it reaches the ground then the wrath of Allah descends on a group of people. This is what happened in Taif, when the Prophet Sallahu alihi wasallam was hurt badly with blood pouring out of his body because of all the stones thrown at him by the youth of Taif, chasing him out of the city, Allah immediately sent down the angel of punishment to rain down the severe punishment of Allah on them. But, again it was the intervention of the Prophet Sallahu alhi wasallam that stopped this from occruing. The result of which is that Taif is a muslim city today. In light of recent events, it should give hope and inspire believers of who the messenger of Allah sallahu alihi wasallam is and to make one want to follow his way. Then the majlis progressed with an address on the importance of valuing the parents. The high esteem and position given to parents in Islam and how a son or daughter can be an obedient child. Some of them are as follows: 1. You should not cause them any harm even if they commit any excesses. 2. Respect and honour them in your speech and dealings with them. 3. Obey them in permissible acts. 4. If they are in need of money, assist them even if they are kafirs. 5. The following rights are due to parents after their death: (a) Continue making duas of forgiveness and mercy for them. Continue sending rewards to them in the form of optional acts of worship and charity on their behalf. (b) Meet their friends and relatives in a friendly way and also assist them wherever possible. (c) If you have the finances, fulfil their unpaid debts and the permissible bequests that they have made. (d) When they pass away, abstain from crying and wailing aloud or else their souls will be troubled. 6. According to the Shariah, the rights of the paternal and maternal grandparents are similar to those of the parents and they should be regarded as such. 7. Similarly, the rights of the maternal and paternal uncles and aunts are similar to those of the parents. This has been deduced from certain Ahadith. (The prophet sallallahu alihi wa sallam said: “The maternal aunt has the status of ones mother.” – Tirmidhi) Admin post: The contents of this post do not necessarily represent the words, message or speech done by the teacher himself.
