THE INITIATES: JUNGLE SCENE: BRIGHT SUNSHINE, COOL TROPICAL BREEZE, MIRROR SURFACED RIVER AND ANIMAL SOUNDS OF THE WILD: A sloth makes his way across the branch of a tree leaning over a river in the Bolivian jungle. The branch snaps and the startled animal hurtles thirty feet to the river below. The splash attracts a caiman looking for an easy meal. The commotion sends an anaconda in swift pursuit. In their race to claim the prize, the two titans end up attacking each other, while their potential meal swims away unscathed. Maita and his toddler Acahuana have a ringside view of the jungle spectacular, until the combatants bring the action to them. Tragedy strikes when the mighty foes corkscrew ten feet into the air and smash into the little canoe occupied by father and son, as they plummet back down to earth. Maita is distraught at the loss of his son. After repeated attempts to locate his beloved Acahuana, he pledges his soul to Satan in exchange for his sons life. He places Acahuanas survival above his most valuable possession.
