THE INVISIBLE ENEMY By Dr. Marc Halpern Who is this enemy you cannot see? How can you defeat him? He controls your mind Your thoughts and feelings He pulls your strings. He appears to be the Master Violence will not work, it only harms you. Fear is his tool. He wields it freely. Signpost written in blood Bones left to dry, speak of a journey hard fought. Tears fill the river that feeds us. The broken crutch of free will A fragile walking stick. Altering our course Carrying us forward. The enemy appears The broken crutch, the only weapon Mended by the desire to be free Wielded by the very one we hope to defeat The unstruck sound rings loudly In the ears of a new listener The whisper of Truth is heard The puppet master disabled, drops his strings And Now?
