THE ISLAMIC IMPLICATIONS ON THE 3-DAY LOCK DOWN As Muslims we - TopicsExpress

THE ISLAMIC IMPLICATIONS ON THE 3-DAY LOCK DOWN As Muslims we strongly believe that Allah has a tradition of testing people. He has tried and tested billions of people before us and He assured us in the Quran that He will surely test us with something of fear, hunger, lost of lives, wealth and properties. To us Muslims, Ebola is a trial from Allah; possibly the biggest trial that has ever hit this nation. We strongly believe that by changing our ways and asking for His help, He will surely help us. Allah has said that After every difficulty there is an ease. We believe that after Ebola, our lives would be changed for the better. Our government in its efforts to stop this deadly epidemic has decided to have a nationwide lock down for three days. For sure the Muslims cant deny measures putting up by the government to stop this pleague but at the same time we are more concerned about our religious duties to help in the fight against Ebola. As a Muslim, have you ever imagine what the three-day lock down means to your religious duties? I am sure, this will be the first time we are going to have a Jummah that will not be observed in the whole country. I am sure that even during the war, Muslims observed Jummah in some parts of the country. Am I saying it is unnecessary to have a three-day lock down? No! All I am saying is that the government has asked the religious leaders to help in the fight against Ebola and they can only do this through Prayers. Jummah in Islam is a very important day for the Muslims in which Allah has ordered all Muslims to leave every task and answer to His call. There is a special hour in this day, according to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in which prayers are answered. I believe that with prayer we can fight Ebola. Alhamdulillah since the Ebola outbreak started Muslims have been very conscious about the way they interact in the Masjid, therefore I do not see the Masjid as a place to spread the virus. Besides we need prayers now more than anything to stop the virus. But for three days we would not be allowed to do Jammah Salaah. As Muslims we know aw much the Jummah and Jammah Salaah means to us. We should not be afraid of Ebola but we should be afraid of Allah. If Allah willed in His infinite mercy he can take away this epidemic within the blink of an eye. But we have been so scared of Ebola that we are not thinking of Allah and what it means to be worshipping Him and asking His help. Allah must come first in all of our undertakings. I wonder why our religious leaders are mostly left out when planning but they are always called upon when decisions are undertaken to implement. Dont misunderstand me please! I am not saying here that the government should not have a three-day lock down but I see no reason why we should not be allowed to go to the mosque to worship. We just spend 30 minutes or an hour on Jummah and the virus is not spread through a healthy person. We just spend 10 minutes maximum on every salaah during the day and the sick is not spread through a healthy person. Why cant we go out then and worship Allah and cry on to Him for help? I leave you to ponder over this question; will Allah be pleased with us to pray at home for 3-days because of the fear of Ebola? The Bizzy Man
