THE JOY OF GRAND: children that is. What an awesome reward for being a parent. Having Jacob run up to me, throwing his arms around me and staring up at me while saying, I love you Zayde, is overwhelmingly beautiful. While we were out today, he had so much to tell me, all really important of course, and all needing to be shared. And yes, I hung on his every word, every smile, every giggle and every bit of silly. Im so very grateful that Im healthy and able to not only watch, but to actively participate, to run and climb, to listen and share, to love and be loved. Amazing ... simply amazing. While we were having lunch today, he had his arm around my shoulder, and gave me a kiss on the cheek. The closeness we share is so wonderful and fills me with emotion. He is really well behaved, so wonderfully bright and wants to learn. He also is so full of energy. If he could only give me just a little bit ... sigh. :) When I grew up, I had no living grandparents and missed all of the love that is indeed grand. Embrace your sons and daughters, no matter what, and welcome with an absolute open heart the gift(s) they will be giving when they have children of their own. I almost missed it, as my daughter and I were at odds at one point, over my divorce. Thanks to the intervention of a rather incredible friend, to whom I will forever be in debt, my daughter and I reconciled, made amends and all is good, very good actually. To have not had my grandson in my life, is too difficult to even ponder. I love my little guy to bits. Wow ...
