"THE KEYS TO KINGDOM OF HEAVEN ARE MINES!" There are many mansions in my Father house! "Joint-Heirs with Christ to the throne!" Ever since the fall of Adam and Eve, people have tried to figure out who they really are. Man is continually on a search for self identity. Adam and Eve were created in the likeness and image of God and had a very real place of dominion. When they fell they not only lost the Garden of Eden, but they lost their relationship with God. When Jesus Christ came to earth, He restored us to relationship with Father God and through our daily communion with Him, we begin to discover who we really are in this relationship. Who we really are is not wrapped up in our name, our occupation, our ethnic background or what we have accomplished in our lives as far as the world is concerned. The Bible calls us heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ Jesus. What is an heir? a person who is entitled by law or by the terms of a will to inherit the estate of another. The successor: a person who inherits some title or office. Inheritance is the practice of passing on property, titles, debts, and obligations upon the death of an individual. It has long played an extremely important role in human societies. That Someone who inherits, or is designated to inherit, the property of another. Is a person who inherits property from a deceased person. the person who receives or inherits what belongs to a relative. The heir usually inherited these things when the relative died. In the Old Testament, Israel was the heir of God. Israel received the Promised Land as an inheritance from God. I. Are you an heir of God? To be in Christ is to be an heir. Galatians 3:27-29 “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” We have been brought back into relationship with God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. 2. We are heirs of all that was promised to Abraham. Genesis 12:1-3 “Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” The facts of adoption and sonship. Galatians 41-5 “Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, 2. but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. 3. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. 4. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born£ of a woman, born under the law, 5. to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” After a time of instruction concerning his inheritance the child of God is made ready to function in his role of authority in the family. 2. As we become familiar with who we are, we begin to take on the authority that has been granted to us by God Himself. If we are children of God, then we are heirs. Romans 8:14-17 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17. and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.” We must know that we have been born of His grace. John 1:10-13 “He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” Everything pertaining to sonship is a result of the grace of God. Man may be responsible for his lost condition but He is unable to do anything about it. It’s all a matter of accepting Christ as Lord of our lives. This scripture shows us that it is God’s will that we become His heirs. The inheritance. Hebrews 9:13-15 “For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, 14. how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15. And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” Jesus Christ paid for our transgressions and provided a new and living way into the inheritance we have from God the Father. The Old Testament sacrifices could never provide an eternal relationship to us as sons of God. C. Jesus Christ loves us so much he died to make us heirs. As joint-heirs with Jesus Christ, we dare not compare the sufferings of this world with God’s glory which He bestows upon us. Romans 8:18 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” We are joint-heirs with Christ in judgment. A. Judgment is in the hands of the Lord. Jude 14-15 “Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, 15. to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” (Another way of translation) “Behold the Lord commeth with regiments, battalions. Armies of His saints.” Judgment is given to those who come into their rightful place of dominion. Psalm 2:6-9 (Jesus Christ) “Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.” “I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. 8 Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’” Revelation 2:26-27 (26. The saints with Him) “And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations— 27 ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; they shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’—as I also have received from My Father;” We are joint-heirs with Christ in government. Christ in government. Matthew 25:31-32 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before Him,” The saints as joint-heirs. Revelation 3:21 “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” Because of the love of God we become sons and sons are heirs. I John 3:1-3 “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. The world does not know us because they do not know the Father. B. We walk in all we know about sonship and we continue to grow in understanding. If we do not exercise our authority in that which we know, we can never come into full maturity. Let us keep growing in the understanding that we are heirs and will yet come into a greater authority in our lives. This is not our permanent homes my dear brothers and sisters. I would that you all will join the family of Christ. And one sweet day we can meet again around the Holy Throne of God. There will be singing and dancing, Glory, Glory, Hallelujah. Souls fill with His love will sing and shout, everyone welcome and know one turned out. Glory to God! Amen. Min. Bryant.
