THE KING DREAM The King Dream, Is it still alive? Should we stand up, Should we compromise? Should we back down, Should we give up the fight? Should we hide in the shadows, Like KKK in the night? Should we stand for equality, Should we stand for respect? Should we just be complacent? With no remorse or regret? Should we just be content, With the current state of progression, Should we reflect on the past And reassess slavery’s lesson? Should we tolerate indifference,Should we just live, Should we understand the ignorance, Should we just forgive? Should we forget the struggles, That’s left unhealed scars, Should we let the government. Determine who we are? Negro or African American, Which do you prefer? Should we let the flag fly, And blatant racism occur? What would Dr. King do, If he were alive today? Would he stand up for justice,Would he back away? My sisters and my brothers, What should we do? Keep fighting for the King Dream, Until it comes true... One day, my little children will be not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character....
