THE LATEST UPDATE & VIDEO ABOUT THE FOREST FIRE IN MARMARIS (Monday, 12:45) Yesterday evening around dinner time, a small portable gas unit was caught fire in flames, when they were about to fry some food for dinner, then theyve panicked out and put the burning portable gas unit on their balcony with flames on in Beldibi, Marmaris ... The small portable gas unit kept on burning in flames on the balcony and few minutes after, theyve heard an explosion sound and they saw that it had exploded and flew over the balcony in the forest in many pieces, where theres intense pine trees and dreid pine leaves all over the place... The fire has started in the forest and spread real quick with the strong wind and the dried pine leaves catch fire easily. Thats how the disaster has started in Beldibi Hills area in Marmaris. These beautiful green pine tree forests have burned and it has turned in to the ashes just before the end of summer season, on a very wiwndy day where the flames have been spread really quick on to othere threes. Estiimatedly 70 hectares of pine tree forest area has been burnt in Marmaris !... The Fire Figting Trucks and Fire Fighter Teams from nearby cities like Muğla, Aydın, Denizli and İzmir have also came to help MFD Marmaris Fire Department to put out the fire yesterday and today. There was like 62 big Fire Fighting Trucks, 306 Professional Fire Fighters, 37 Forest Engineers, 4 Fire fighting Helicopters and thousands of volunteers, supplying water and food for the Fire Fighting Team members... The forest fire has been under controlled and put out after 14 hours of brave and courageous non-stop fighting and works by the volunteers all night long, till the early hours of this morning. And the helicopters have been carrrying water from the sea to cool down the fire in the forest !... That was a big disaster for the priceless unique green pine tree forests and the wild life in Marmaris. Millions of thanks to those brave and courageous Fire Fighters and the volunteers who went up there to help the MFD members putting out the fire and saving peoples lifes !...
