THE LESSON OF THE PRODIGAL SON The Bible says: As it was still far off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him ... the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Eat and rejoice (Luke 15:20-23). I think the Prodigal Son returned home because of the story he had lived with his father. This young man knew the character of his father and apparently he had received from him lots of love. He must have known, if he returned, he would not reprimanded or punished for his sins. Note that the father of the prodigal son received despite its pitiful conditions. The young man was determined to give his father a confession from the heart. But when he was in front of his father, he could not go through with his confession because his father interrupted him running and kissing. The young man could not say that the beginning of his speech: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you, I am no longer worthy to be called your son (Luke 3:21 p.m.). But his father did not wait for it to finish. For him the question of sin of the young man had already been settled. The only answer of the father was an order to his servants: Give my son a dress and put a ring on his finger. Prepare a party because we will celebrate his return. Everyone rejoices: my son is back home The father knew the heart of his son and he knew he had fully repented!. The sin was not the problem in his eyes. The only important thing in his mind, it was love. He wanted sounds son knew he was accepted before he could utter his confession. And thats what God wants us all to understand: His love is greater than our sins. The goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance (Romans 2:4).
