THE LITERALLY INCOMPREHENSIBLE TRINITY So, the Father is God, - TopicsExpress

THE LITERALLY INCOMPREHENSIBLE TRINITY So, the Father is God, the Son is God, the Holy Spirit is God, but . . .The Father is neither the Son nor the Holy Ghost; The Son is neither the Father not the Holy Ghost; The Holy Ghost is neither the Father nor son. And the Father, Son and Holy Ghost are not different modes of God—that would be the heretic theory known as “modalism, rejected by the Catholic, Greek and Russian Orthodox, and Protestant Churches. That’s as clear as mud. Now I know why they call it “the mystery of the Trinity.” It’s a real mystery alright. As once source says, “Modalism, also called Sabellianism, is the unorthodox belief that God is one person who has revealed himself in three forms or modes in contrast to the Trinitarian doctrine where God is one being eternally existing in three persons.” I am pretty sure if one could say, “God is one being eternally existing in three persons” (Father, Son and Holy Ghost), one could say “God is one person who has revealed himself in three forms or modes,” because they are not CONTRASTING positions or DIFFERING position, they are IDENTICAL positions. But don’t worry, the Athanasian Creed should clarify: “There are three Gods, or three Lords. The Father is made of none; neither created, nor begotten. The Son is of the Father alone; not made, nor created; but begotten. The Holy Ghost is of the Father and of the Son; neither made, nor created, nor begotten; but proceeding.” That should totally clear it up. The Father is made of neither Son nor Holy Ghost. The Son is “of the Father,” whatever that means, “but is not created” by the father, but “begotten,” whatever that means. And the Holy Spirit is of the Father and of the Son, (remember, the Father is made none, and the Son is of the Father alone), and was not made, nor created (apparently different from “made,”) and wasn’t even begotten (apparently something different from being created or made), but proceeds from the Father and Son. And we really laugh at Mormon’s for not understanding the Trinity? https://youtube/watch?v=AQkFlzFJ3kA
