THE LOOK OF GAUNT ON THE FACE of most jamaicans is testament to how hard life has become...I tend to love to walk the streets and generally interact with the normal man on the streets..those deemed lowlifes as they I found to be genuine and not approach you with hugs that are more death wish and smiles not of greet but of sorrow I am not dead..this walking takes me into alleys and places where most fear...spanish town the congregation of citizens from all over and as I say the faces tells a story of pain and sorrow...hunger and despair..I also look in the eyes of who beg and it too tells a story also if that begging is genuine ....funny enough the majority are of desperation. ..the scars on their faces..the teeth that are missing..the teeth stained are not from lack of cleaning but of depression and stress..the wondering eyes are stares of hoping they may today come across a good samaritan who might just simply help with a pound of flour...that my treck also reveals desperation to sell anything...a handkerchief. ..a shammouy...a few mangoes. ...a hand of banana..sales are rare as most who would buy have shun the area gone to meggamart etc where its almost nicely displayed..its a hard life for some in my homeland but then who truly cares..
