THE LORD’S WAY: Zechariah 3:6-7-And the Angel of the Lord - TopicsExpress

THE LORD’S WAY: Zechariah 3:6-7-And the Angel of the Lord protested unto Joshua, saying, 7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; If you will walk in My ways, and if you will keep My charge, then you shall also judge My house, and shall also keep My courts, and I will give you places to walk among these that stand by. The Angel of the Lord in this passage appears to be Christ Himself. The Lord was solemnly and earnestly admonishing Joshua the high priest, that even though all these prophecies, stated earlier and immediately preceding this passage, would occur in the distant future, still, Joshua, the high priest, who was the type (symbolic of) of Jesus Christ, the coming high priest, must also serve as an example of righteousness. Five things are said in verse 5; five is the number which represents grace in the Scriptures. We learn from this verse that it is only through the Lord’s enabling grace, that the high priest (Joshua) will be able to obey the charge and reap the blessings. If you walk in the Lord’s ways, & if you keep the Lord’s charge, today this means that the believer must keep their faith in Christ and His atoning work at Calvary and in that alone. You will judge the Lord’s house, & you will keep the Lord’s courts, and you will have a place to walk among those who stand by; these last 3 points represent the blessing side of this passage. How do they apply to the believer today? Great question, I am glad you asked it. In the future sense all believers will be judges, because all believers are part of the royal priesthood; today through the Holy Spirit the believer will be able to discern/judge between truth and false doctrine if their faith is properly in Christ and Him crucified and not in religious, westernized, ceremonial, man-made christianity (typed with a lower case c intentionally). Keeping the Lord’s courts today is representative of being in His presence, and fellowshipping with Him 24/7. Saints if we will continue to trust in Christ, if we will continue to rely only on Him, He is going to bless us with His presence and He is going to provide for the needs of His people. Do not stop trusting, believe until the end, and one way or the other, He is going to reward you. Praise God, Praise God! God bless you all. Pastor Ron
