THE MEMORABLE SWITZERLAND........:) The latkas and jhatkas of Bollywood with SRK and his beautiful heroines dancing on top of snow cliffs with scanty clothing without even dying of Pneumonia seemed quiet wonderful to me in my college days dreaming to be on top of the cliff someday with my own Sharukh Khan......my would be husband. ... which was granted to me by God in the later half of year 2000. As Himalayas are our countrys pride so are the Alps to the Europeans. I have seen French, German , Swiss...Austrian Alps ,and in different country its beauty is different. Our Switzerland trip was from Austria where the Alps looked green and snow clad from another side. We reached the city of Engelberg (crossing seventeen underpasses through the montains and hundred of beautiful lakes. and stopping to have the famous mango lassi of Move and Pick the famous swiss ice cream shop) which looked a sleepy hamlet in between the mountain s and my first impression was that I have stepped on the soil of Pahelgam in Kashmir. We put up in a hotel which was hundred years old but still beautiful ly maintained and our huge room overlooked Mt Titlis. The snow capped head of the mountain took my breath away. We were given a welcome drink of Masala Tea . It was cold outside but warm from inside because of good insulation. After refreshing we had early dinner and went to bed as we had to get up early and climb Mt Titlis as the peak of Alps was called here. The sound of cow bells woke me up from sleep and I got ready in the wee hours of the dawn. The hotel management led us to the car which took us to the foothills of mount Titlis .From there we took the cable car ride to the ten thousand ft top at the snow clad peak. The mountains looked green from inside the cable car and slowly the mountain started to fade into nilk white. We were trying to talk . ...but my little son told us not to shout too much as it may cause avalanche up which he had read in story books....:) as we were about to board an open cable car which would take us to the top.The car was continuously moving. There was a second cable car which was a bench locked with only one rod....and the ride was too terrifying as I had heard of a lady falling down from the open car and dying few days before we had gone. But alls well that ends well and we reached the top. There was a studio where we were given shoes and more jackets to step into the ice palace and the snow. We even took snaps of our family together and my family photo was kept besides our cricketer Sewag and His bride along with Ash Abhi...Sachin Anjali all had their pictures taken. But it felt good to be beside them may not be beside SRK and all other. ....:) The ice Palace was not big as the one on Yungfrau which we went from Geneva but this was beautiful too.We roamed through it and from one toom to other and suddenly stepped into the huge mass of snow. Every where looked white as if there were no other colors besides it.I had the experience of rolling into the snow of our Gulmarg but with my little sons awestruck eyes this feeling was different. My son jumped in glee throwing snow at me.We also sat on a sledge and almost toppled over the rope which saved us from vanishing into the white forever. We didnt notice that the clock moved towards noon and we had our lunch in one and only restaurant on top .The food was a sumptuous Indian meal and my son and we ate to our hearts content. At 4 pm we went down through the same route and purchased few souvenirs from the shop. The evening was a memorable one too where we tapped our feet in the Hotels disco and later enjoyed the grand buffet by our Indias Oberoi Delhis chef Rakesh Sethi. We returned to bed at wee hours of the morning but couldnt sleep for long as we had to roam the whole city and see historical monuments. We woke up at nine running to get dressed ...shower and have breakfast and go out in the greens. The day was beautiful with no clouds and we roamed the city and saw beautiful shops. The lakes were beautiful with swans swimming. Next day we boarded the train to Geneva .The country side looked beautiful and I could see Sharukh Khan and Kajal singing the popular numbers in the fields...But it was only a dream. The train was so beautiful that I strated disliking Planes after my trip.....We reached Geneva and went straight to the hotel ..The ambiance was beautiful and we had our dinner early and next day we went to roam about the beautiful city.Every city of Switzerland has strong resemblance to the other. I got up in the morning to board the train to Interlochen from where we had to go to Yungfrau to see the famous ice palace which was the real one where a famous Bond movie was shot. The castle was huge.We roamed from one room to the other. We came down and had lunch in a local restaurant. We roamed through the streets and saw the beautiful sites. As every good things must have an end so our trip to ended with a happy note because we still had to look forward to our holiday at Erlangan Germany. .......
