THE MESSAGE OF GRACE CONFIRMED I want to clarify some scripture - TopicsExpress

THE MESSAGE OF GRACE CONFIRMED I want to clarify some scripture that is often used out of context. Pauls writings were all inspired by God and they do not contradict any thing Jesus taught. What they actually do is clarify what Jesus accomplished for us on the cross. Some people try and use something Peter said about Paul completely out of context. Here Peter confirmed Pauls writings on grace and freedom from the law in his second letter to the church when he wrote. Our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16 as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures. 2 Peter 3:15-16 Those people that Peter is warning the church about are the ones who dont understand the scriptures all pointed everyone to Jesus. Jesus fulfilled all the prophecy that was written about Him and established a new covenant with us. But some deny what He actually did and continue to point us back to Moses and the law. Peter explains more about the deception these people are teaching. 1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 Peter 2 It becomes clear so there is no confusion what Peter is referring too when we compare those two verses. The teaching that Jesus did not fulfill the law and establish a new covenant is destructive. Peter goes on to encourage us with what we should be focusing on. If it was the law he certainly would have said so. But what does he tell us to do? 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3
