THE MINISTRY OF SIGNS AND WONDERS (PART 2) By Daddy G.O Adeboye on 09/12 @ D ministers’ conference Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. The ministry of signs and wonders involves the trinity therefore to operate in this ministry you need to know the trinity. 1.God the Father is the one who anoints. (Psalm 23:5) 2.God the Son is the one who was anointed (John 14:12) 3.God the Holy Spirit is our empowering companion and the source of power (Acts 1:8). Daniel 11:32 tells us that those WHO KNOW their God shall be strong and do exploits. Philippians 3:10 says “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death” God the Father Exodus 15:11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? God the Father is a wonder-working God. If you remember the wonders of creation in Genesis 1, you’ll have no problem believing him for recreation. If he created, he can RECREATE! In 2 Kings 5:1-14 is the story of Naaman and how Elisha told him to go and dip himself in the river Jordan. What gave Elisha the boldness to give such a command? It was because he KNEW his God! After Naaman carried out the instructions, the bible tells us he got brand new skin! If you know God the Father, operating in healing becomes easy. God can fix ANYBODY. If you know him as the God who works wonders and you consider the wonders of his provision (how he brought water out of a rock in Ex. 17:1-6), you will be able to move on with the work of the ministry without fearing where the resources will come from. In 1st Kings 17:8-16, Elijah told the widow of Zarephat to first make him a cake when she was in lack preparing her last meal for herself and her son! Where did he get the confidence to make such a demand? I pray that you will know God the Father! There are four principal things about God the Son: 1.The wonders of his name. Philippians 2:9 tells us that God has given Jesus a name that is ABOVE every other name! 2.The power in his name. John 14:14 says “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it” Brethren, if you know these two things about God the Son, you’ll be able to deal with ANY demon! Many pray without using the name of Jesus. Demons know those who don’t know the power in the name of Jesus. The devil knows who has confidence in the power in the name of Jesus. 3.You need to know his constancy. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Brethren, he does NOT change. This must really sink into you. WHATEVER he has done before, he can do again. The method he uses might be different. In Mark 10:46, he opened the eyes of Bartemeus by “speaking” but in John 9:1-7, he opened someone’s eyes by “spitting”. But brethren, it didn’t matter which method he used, the blind eyes of both men WERE OPENED! 4.You need to know that he is coming again. This will help you walk in the narrow path. God the Holy Spirit Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. God the Holy Spirit is the source of power. Jesus instructed his disciples to tarry in Jerusalem until they were endued with POWER. The bible tells us “it’s not by power nor by might but by MY SPIRIT saith the Lord” In Church Today Acts 3:1, there is the account of the lame man at the Beautiful gate. Peter told him he didn’t have silver nor gold but that he had “the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth” The bible tells us Peter grabbed him by the hand and the “current” flowed through him to the man causing him the walk, leap, and praise God. Philippian 3:10 talks about “the power of his resurrection”. The Holy Spirit is the power that rose Jesus from the dead. Acts 19:11-12 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them. The bible tells us in Acts 19 that Paul’s handkerchiefs healed. If you know God, even your sweat will contain power. Many pray for power when they should be praying for partnership with The Holy Spirit. Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah’s “spirit” (not power). The sons of the prophets declared that the “spirit” of Elijah rested on Elisha. If you know the spirit, anyone who touches you touches a miracle. If you get to know God the Holy Spirit, your sweat will be able to heal! PREREQUISITES FOR PARTNERING WITH THE TRINITY Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed? CONDITIONS FOR GOD THE FATHER (THE ANOINTER) If you want to partner with God the Father, you must be holy. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy (1st Peter 1:15-16). Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows (Hebrews 1:9). Holiness is paramount if you want to be in partner with God the Father. This involves restitution (Joshua 7). No minister can operate in signs and wonders if they do not pay their tithes. Failure to pay tithes is similar to the original sin in that Adam and Eve ate that which belonged to God. Tithes BELONG TO GOD. If you eat it, you bring a curse on yourself. Many are not prospering because of lack of payment of tithes. John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. Keeping malice obstructs your operation in signs and wonders. There is a reason behind the gentleness and meekness of a few men of God. Deny yourself the pleasure of excessive anger, eating, sleeping, etc Pray in tongues. CONDITIONS FOR GOD THE SON (THE ANOINTED) God the Son is the role model (The Anointed). The condition for God the son is OBEDIENCE. CONDITIONS FOR GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT (THE POWER SOURCE) You must make sure you don’t grieve the spirit . If he (Holy Spirit) talks to you and you don’t listen, you grieve him. If you grieve him long enough you quench him (1st Thes. 5:19). One of the ways you get to know his voice is to communicate with him often. 1st Corinthians 14:18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all When you pray in tongues, you are communicating with the Holy Spirit and he will communicate back with you. He sometimes tells you to do strange things. He may tell you to dance around a sick person. He may be testing your obedience. PREACHED DURING THE HOLY COMMUNION By Daddy G.O Adeboye on 09/12 @ D ministers’ conference John 7:37-39 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified) Are you thirsty for God? God will NOT give the ministry of signs and wonders to someone who isn’t thirsty. It is too precious to give to every Tom, Dick, and Harry. The bible tells us “blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled”. Brethren, thirst is a killer. How thirsty are you? Thirst differs. The thirst of someone living in the city is different from the thirst of someone living in the dessert. David said “as the deer pateth after the water brooks so panteth my soul after the living God” You can cause an earthquake but it all boils down to HOW THIRSTY ARE YOU? You must not take the Holy Communion casually. It is the Lord’s Supper (not breakfast or lunch). If you know your life is not right with God DO NOT partake in it. Don’t kill yourself. The Lord gave the word; great is the company of those that published it (Psalm 68:11)
