THE MISSING LOVE Ife (Love) got missing and his father was very worried and downcast. Soon, various sympathizers came to sympathise with him and this was what their visit turned out to be. Baba Ife: Oh! What a wicked world. Ife! Ife! Ife! What a wicked world. (An Apostle came in) Apostle: Baba Ife, what is this I heard about Ife? Please tell me it’s not true. Baba Ife: It’s true Apostle. Ife is missing. Apostle: Oh my God! This shouldn’t be. But, who could be responsible for this? The presence of Ife among us cannot be substituted by anyone else. Who then could be responsible for Ife’s where about? Baba Ife: Well, there’s a clue to that. Apostle: You mean there’s a clue to the one responsible? Baba Ife: Yes! Check that corner, you’ll find a clue to the one responsible. Apostle: (moved to see what was in the corner Baba Ife pointed to) Baba Ife, I can’t find anything here. Baba Ife: Look at it very well, it’s there. Apostle: The only thing here is a standing mirror. Baba Ife: You’re right, it’s in the mirror. Apostle: But there’s no picture or any label on the mirror. Baba Ife: I didn’t say on the mirror. What I said was in the mirror. Apostle: Baba Ife! But the only thing in the mirror is my image. So? Baba Ife: So it means you’re responsible for why Ife is missing. Apostle: You’re kidding right? Baba Ife: No. Not at all. You were called and ordained by the Lord as His Apostle to the world, but from the time you began to lord it over His people as if they are your people, you began to frustrate the presence of Ife. And since you have continued to take pride in your wrong doings and do not seems to be ready to take to corrections, Ife could no longer bare it and so he left without saying goodbye. Apostle: But… ah! (felt so humbled) Baba Ife: You’re called and sent by the Lord, but now you do things on your own. You make the people to treat you as if you’re the one that died for them on the cross. You claim to be the Owner and the Founder of the church, just because you’re empowered to plant His church. You no longer administer your ministerial gift as an apostle to the people because you love them, but rather because of what you can gain from them. It was these attitudes of yours that led to why Ife left us without saying goodbye. Apostle: (Left Baba Ife’s place with regret). Ah! Ah! Ah! Baba Ife: You’re living? I hope that as you are going, you’ll go and make amend, perhaps Ife may return if he get to hear that you’re now doing things right. This was how the Apostle left Baba Ife’s place with guilt. Baba Ife was left with the burden of his missing child, Ife. NOTE: This is not the end of the story as the story continues next week by God’s grace.
