THE MOST UNDERRATED DRUMMER IN PROG? There are lots of them, I - TopicsExpress

THE MOST UNDERRATED DRUMMER IN PROG? There are lots of them, I know. But Bob Dalton of It Bites takes this prize for me. Never overbearing, his immaculate feel is a crucial part of the bands sound, but when he needs to take it up a notch as a player - no problem. His fills are incredibly well-thought out and REALLY, PROPERLY original. Maybe many non-drummers wont know what Im talking about, but I assure you - if you focus on him, some of the stuff that Dalton plays behind the limelight has never been played by anyone else. His fills are always tasteful and TRULY unique. Some of the time-changes he handles are beyond belief, and his patterns are really hard to play, but he never loses his musicality. He might sound like a standard drummer to the layman, but thats the beauty of his playing - he is not. The guy should be inducted into the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame. Heres just one example of this amazingly original drummer killing it and creating new timings and fills but never taking the focus away from the music. Whos your most underrated drummer? https://youtube/watch?v=hBd401c9ak4&list=RDhBd401c9ak4#t=0
