THE MUSLIM JESUS...WHO IS HE? The Islamic view of Jesus lies - TopicsExpress

THE MUSLIM JESUS...WHO IS HE? The Islamic view of Jesus lies between two extremes. The Jews , who rejected Jesus as a Prophet of God, called him an impostor. The Christians, on the other hand, considered him to be the son of God and worship him as such. Islam considers Jesus to be one of the great prophets of God and respects him as much as Ibrahim (Abraham), Moses, and Mohammed. (Peace Be Upon Them) This is conformity with the Islamic view of the oneness of God, the oneness of Divine guidance, and the complementary role of the subsequent mission of Gods messengers. Jesus (pbuh) is in the Quran a prophet whose message the Jews rejected. He is called the Messiah, and messenger of God (Quran 4:171). He brought the Gospel (Quran 57:27). Unfortunately the Muslim beliefs and traditions still remain a mystery to many non-Muslims especially in the West. Between ignorance and outright malicious lies, Muslims are strongly encouraged to find a common ground with others. Non-Muslims, especially Christians, are often surprised to discover that Muslims also believe in Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and actually follow his ways and teachings closer than them. My intention is to bring forward the common ground between Muslims and Christians and our similiarities to Jesus (pbuh). Muslims are required by God to believe in all of the Prophets. These include Prophet Isa (Jesus Christ) and Prophet Yahya (John the Baptist) peace be upon them. The Quran, also instructs Muslims to believe in the books revealed to every Prophet as well. The book (Gospel) given to Jesus (pbuh) is called Injeel in the Quran. According to the Quran, Prophet Jesus (pbuh) was one of Allahs (SWT) most beloved messengers, a precursor to Prophet Muhammad (61:6) and was sent to guide the Children of Israel. In the Quran, stories about the life and teachings of Jesus (pbuh) are abundant. The Quran recalls his miraculous birth, his teachings, the miracles he performed by Allahs (SWT) permission, and his life as a great prophet of Allah (SWT). The Quran also speaks of Maryam (Mary) not only as the mother of Prophet Jesus (pbuh, but as a righteous woman in her own right. Muslims believe that Prophet Jesus (pbuh) was the son of Maryam (Mary), and was immaculately conceived without the intervention of a human father. The Quran describes that an angel appeared to Maryam (Mary), to announce to her the gift of a holy son (19:19). Maryam (Mary) was astonished at the news, and asked: How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste? (19:20). When the angel explained to her that she had been chosen for the service of Allah (SWT), and that Allah (SWT) had ordained the matter, she devoutly submitted herself to His will. But this is not all. There is even more in the Quran about Jesus. The Quran admits there is a special distinction between servants of God (Quran 2:253). Jesus has a special position in the Quran. For Jesus it is Gods signs to prove (Quran 2:253; 43:63) and Jesus received Gods assistance by the Holy Spirit (Quran 2:253). Jesus is a person with extreme dignity both in this world as in the other world (Quran 3:45). All commentaries agree with the fact that this implies both holiness as blessings. Only Jesus can do the actions like create and to give life by Gods permission. (Quran 3:49). No prophet in the Quran has done such actions. So please Christian readers, the next time you hear someone say that Muslims dont believe in Jesus, remember what youve read and correct them....Thank you kindly, Ameen! 13 VALID REASONS WHY AND HOW MUSLIMS ARE LIKE JESUS (PBUH) AND TRUE FOLLOWERS OF JESUS THAN MOST CHRISTIANS BELIEVE: 1. Jesus (pbuh) taught that there is only One God and Only God should be worshipped as taught in Deut 6:4, Mark 12:29. Muslims also believe this as taught in the Quran verse 4:171. 2. Jesus (pbuh) didnt eat pork as taught in Leviticus 11:7 , and neither do Muslims as taught in ...the Quran verse 6:145. 3. Jesus (pbuh) greeted with the words as salaamu alaikum (Peace be with you) in John 20:21. Muslims also greet each other this way. 4. Jesus (pbuh) always said God Willing (inshallah), Muslims say this too before doing anything as taught in the Quran verses 18:23-24. 5. Jesus (pbuh) washed his face, hands, and feet before praying. The Muslims do the same. 6. Jesus (pbuh) and other prophets of the Bible prayed with their head to the ground (see Matthew 26:39). Muslims do too as taught in the Quran verse 3:43. 7. Jesus (pbuh) had a beard and wore a throbe. It is Sunnah for Muslim men to do the same. 8. Jesus (pbuh) followed the law and believed in all the prophets, (see Matthew 5:17). Muslims do too as taught in the Quran verses 3:84, and 2:285. 9. Jesus mother Maryam (pbut) dressed modestly by fully covering her body and wearing a headscarf (hijab) as found in 1 Timothy 2:9, Genesis 24:64-65, and Corinthians 11:6. Muslim women modestly dress the same as taught in the Quran verse 33:59. 10. Jesus (pbuh) and other prophets of the Bible fasted up to 40 days (see Exodus 34:28, Daniel 10:2-6. 1Kings 19:8, and Matthew 4:1-11. Muslims do also during the month of Ramadan. Muslims are required to fast the full obligatory 30 days (see Quran 2:183), and others take it a step further by fasting an additional 6 days to increase their rewards. 11. Jesus (pbuh) taught to say Peace to this house when entering it (see Luke 10:5), and to also greet the people in the house with peace be unto you. Muslims do exactly what Jesus did and taught. When we enter our homes and the homes of others we say Bismillah and also greet with as salaamu alaikum (peace be upon you) as taught in the Quran verse 24:61. 12. Jesus (pbuh) was circumcised. Circumcision is 1 of the 5 fitrah in Islam, so Muslim men are required to be circumsised. According to the Bible in Luke 2:21, Jesus was eight days old when he was circumcised. In the Torah, Allah/God stated to the Prophet Abraham (pbuh) that it is an Everlasting covenant (see Genesis 17:13). In the Quran verse 16:123 Muslims are required to follow the religion of Abraham. The Prophet Muhammad (saws) said, The Prophet Abraham circumcised himself when he was eighty years old. (see Sahih hadith Bukhari, Muslim, and Ahmad). 13. Jesus (pbuh) spoke aramaic and called God Elah, which is pronounced the same as Allah. Aramaic is an ancient, Biblical language. It is one of the Semitic languages that also include Hebrew, Arabic, Ethiopic and the ancient Assyrian and Babylonian language of Akkadian. The Aramaic Elah and the Arabic Allah are the same. The Aramaic Elah is derived from the Arabic Allah, and it means GOD. Allah in Arabic also means GOD, the Supreme GOD Almighty. You can easily see the similarity in their pronunciation so this concludes that the God of Jesus is also the God of the Muslims, of all mankind, and all that exist, Ameen!
