THE NEW NIGERIA I SEE When Martin Luther King Jnr of blessed memory, stood before the thousands assembled on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, Washington on the 28th day of August 1963 to deliver his I Have A Dream speech, many especially American leaders took that speech as a usual noise-making religious preaching that holds no water. But the transformation of that dream into reality still keeps the whole world spellbound till date. Since the 1st day of January 2014, many acclaimed Prophets of God have made various predictions on the future and fate of this Nation this year 2014 and come 2015. However today I stand, not as a prophet, pastor or preacher. I stand not as a representative of any religious sect, political organization, tribe or class. I stand today under a divine inspiration as an Activist, a promulgator of positive change, a crusader of ideal transformation, to declare that I SEE A NEW NIGERIA! Hear this: When the hassles of our quest for relevance and prominence and the decays of morals have substantially birthed a twilight Nigeria, how then shall we survive? How can we see the light of positive change and ideal transformation? When the twilight zone of selfishness, corruption, nepotism, tribalism and ethnicity have remained our comfort zone, how can we embrace through light of progress and development? When religious bigotry and its resultant crises have blatantly submerged our integrity and reduced us to such infinitesimal value before the world, where shall we stand to erase these negative impressions they created of us? Can posterity still ever forgive us? How long shall we continue to kill one another with such unjustifiable brutality? How long shall we go on to waste the precious lives of those who stand to benefit and enrich us in this Journey for progress and success. But...... Indeed I see a New Nigeria! Inspite of those blazing sun of yesterday and the terrific storms of today, I still see a New Nigeria. A Nigeria that stands on the blissful threshold of peace and unity. A Nigeria where her people live and stay together in one brotherhood setting aside religious, tribal, ethnic, political, social and personal differences. A Nigeria where envy, bitterness, hatred, rancour, contempt, violence, egotism, nepotism, favoritism and all those ill tendencies will forever be cremated and buried. Yes, a New Nigeria I see, where equity and justice shall prevail. A New Nigeria where the lives and properties, and interests of the citizens are protected, preserved and placed above that of the leaders(government). A Nigeria where education becomes affordable for all and sundry, and employment opportunities begin to knock on our doors begging to be welcomed. A Nigeria where every religion is respected because of its belief in One True God and not criticized because of its foundation. A New Nigeria that shall call on the name of the Most High God, humble herself before Him and seek His face in times of distress and confusion. This is the New Nigeria I see!
