THE NEW PDP AND ITS FOIBLES Within the last 24 hours, the print, electronic and social has been inundated with same old stories about the economy by the aberration that goes by the name New PDP Baraje and his gang of co -travelers have not said anything new. What might make the difference is for them and their worthless lots to tell us the solution to the problem. Speeches cannot fix the economy. States have no reasons to wait on the center for revenue to run and function well. If others have been brain dead to do it in the past, unless the gang of 7 are the same there is nothing stopping them from doing it now. The problem with the Nigeria economy is that every elected politician is in a hurry, only interested in what they can grab now while their tenure lasts. Not even one of them is thinking of tomorrow or selflessly for the common man on the street who is supposed to have voted for them to get to power. The demon fathers of politicians are the ones who manipulate figures and their demon children into power which is why development will continue to elude Nigeria. Money can easily be made to run a state from agriculture. Cash crop cultivation got its name from the cash it can bring but to the Nigeria politicians it is a waste of time when the easy oil money from the center is there. Every bowl is towards Abuja for the national handout which does nothing but support laziness, waywardness, stupidity, mediocrity and lack of the abilities to think and imaginations by the so called governors. Baraje, I do not exactly see the social, physical and infrastructural developments in Kano, Jigawa, Niger or Rivers state equal even to the slums of Toronto, London or Amsterdam. Even where the so called ¨big men¨ live in these states do not meet the level of development in the slums of Albania. To those who run these states wouldn´t it be better to start the state of the economy reviews from their own backyards?
