THE NEXT LIST: TOP 2013 RELIEVERS In some ways, the list of relievers is the toughest of all, mostly because of innings pitched issues, along with those who could possibly qualify as a starter and/or a reliever. But I have a list together that Im comfortable with, and the survey (that three people answered) showed that relievers are next, so here we go. Just so you know, I tried to take the entire body of work into account, which means that I compare ERA, batting average against, WHIP (walks and hits per inning pitched), BB/9, and K/9. Saves are not so important to me- I dislike the rule, and it is a stat of opportunity. All of the guys on the list could have racked up large save totals if his manager used him in that way. So well start with a list of the last five to get cut from the top ten. Here is #11-15, IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER: Ryan Griffth, Woodstock Daniel Bridgeman, Strasburg Brent Cobb, Aldie Adam Emerson, Strasburg Kenny Ball, Aldie As one more note here in the beginning, Douglas Gunderson (Aldie) and Steven Welcher (Winchester) did not make the list because of a lack of innings pitched. (Gunderson threw 13 innings; Welcher threw 12.) Soon I will post on #10!
