THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT AND INTERFARENCE CAPITALISM: To get d Nigerian economy on its feet Nigerian govt must interfare in our economy and must know d importance of forging close alliance with big businesses, as big businesses, in conjunction with powerful banks, are needed to build Nigerias industrial might. Our govt must evaluate d items of high civilisation existing in other countries, but which are absent from d textures of Nigerian life. Hundreds of millions of our citizens can be fed, clothed, housed and employed without difficulties, by exploiting & developing our country with ever-growing intensity and skill. Exploitation and development should go hand-in-hand, and exploitation should never out-strip development as is currently happening. When 2.5 million barrels of our oil are carted away everyday without commensurate development of our country. The drive for great economic expansion & massive industrialisation will necessitate a gigantic expansion of govt, and d spread of areas in which govt will take direct interests. For now, Nigeria has no room for Laissez-faire govt. The Federal govt cannot just allow industrialisation to happen. It must have policies 4 it By doing so, d luxuries promoted & enjoyed by d wealthy can be turned into necessities for everyone by d process of mass-production & mass-marketing that will harness d selling power &, therefore, d wealth-creating power of sheer cheapness through improved efficiency and productivity. However, if we are to promote big businesses, we must know about possible corporate wrong-doings or anti-social exploitation by corporate powers. And since not just access to capital but new managerial skills are imperative for national devt, establishing Centres for Advanced Engineering must also be a top priority. If all these sound to be difficult, we must know that building a prosperous nation for hundreds of millions of people should not be expected to be an easy task. And not recognising d enormity of such task is d main reason Nigeria is still backward today.
