THE NO. 1 COUNTRY SONG (SEPTEMBER 7, 1995): Originally recorded a year earlier by an artist named Davis Daniel on his self-titled CD, newcomer Bryan White scored the very first No. 1 song of his country music career, spending a week at the top with Someone Elses Star. The song was co-written by Skip Ewing and Jim Weatherly, the same Jim Weatherly who wrote two classic hits in the 1970s for Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me and the groups only No. 1 pop hit Midnight Train To Georgia.
