THE NONSENSE OF FAILURE TO RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD OF GOD: ARE THE LAWS OF GOD PUT IN THE MINDS OF AND WRITTEN IN THE HEARTS OF BELIEVERS TODAY? THE FALSE TEACHER WILLIAMS FEMI SAYS YES. Ephesians 4: 7 - 14 clearly teaches that each believer is given grace according to the measure of the gifts from Christ and that gifted believers are given the church to equip the saints. 1 Corinthians 12: 28 clearly states God appoints gifted people like apostles, inspired speakers, teachers, etc in the congregation. So, God uses this media to put his law or teaching in his peoples minds. However, in Hebrews 8: 11 God revealed why each believer will not need to teach his neighbor: because all will HAVE PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE OF me from small to great of them. But it doesnt stop there, but goes on with the quotation of Jeremiah 31 in v 12 thus: I will be willing to forgive their injustice ( unrighteousness or hurts )and their illegal acts I never ever remember or make of them.’ The fact is Jesus instituted the new covenant promised in Jeremiah 31: 31 - 34………So, the new covenant is in force today and there are other aspects that will be fulfilled at the last part of this era we are in. ‘’-Williams Femi Failure to study the scripture rightly divided is the cause of studied nonsense that is purveyed in the name of God in the seminaries. In the contemporary pulpit, the clergyman snores theology and the laity nods in chorus at the pews. Oh, that the Lord may have mercy on the Church. The necessity of systematic and logical thinking is lamentably lacking in the seminaries. The seminarians like Williams Femi have accepted the pervasive studied nonsense without even being aware of what they were accepting. In the above excerpt from Femi’s article on the new covenant, he claims that Christ gave gifts of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to men ‘’to put……teaching in his people’s minds’’ under the new covenant. What is the difference between ‘’putting teaching in the minds of God’s people’’ and ‘’ to teach every man his neighbor?’’ Femi continues to say that, ‘’ In Hebrews 8:11 God revealed why each believer will not need to teach his neighbor: because all will HAVE PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE OF ME from the small to great of them.’’ If each believer need not to be taught because he already have personal knowledge of God, what need do they have for apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, the purpose of which is to ‘’ put teaching’’ in the minds of believers according to his theory? Or, is having ‘’ a personal knowledge of God from the least to the greatest’’ different from knowledge imparted by apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers? Such is the confusion caused by failure to rightly divide the word of truth. Today, faithful believers are exhorted to teach others. ‘’And the things that thou hast heard from me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.’’ (11Timothy 2:2). No amount of violent wresting of scripture out of context can prevail in having the new covenant fulfilled today alongside the teaching of Paul to the contrary. So long as words retain their virtue of conveying intelligible concepts, that would be a vain attempt. Charles O. Ndege.
