(Part 2) ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ As the fight against terrorism ethnic violence and banditry in the north continues to take its toll on the population, it appears the bad guys are winning the war, creating,in the process, a lingering siege mentalily with the presence of checkpoints, barricades, curfews and emergency rule. Already, the united states government has, as part of efforts to contain the insurgency, declared Boko Haram as a terrorist group with a bounty on the head of its leader. With its affiliation to al-qaeda, the group has acquired a reputation for lawlessness that is beyond the capacity of nigeria alone to manage. Internal fallouts of the state of insecurity in the country explain why the federal goverment must find a way of resolving these conflicts. In the case of the fulani herdsmen, the authorities must see the need to engage the aggrieved fulani herdsmen constructively and work out a plan of action to address their grievances.
