THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE ABOVE REPORT: Major confrontation between northern politicians and their southern counterparts may take place in Abuja on Monday unless a plan by governors from the north to storm Abuja on that day against national conference is called off. The northern governors want some of the major decisions reached at the national conference,during the week reversed. The northern leaders decided at their meetings on Thursday that upholding Nigeria as a federation should be re-opened and defeated. .Some of these decisions are on entrenching true federalism and creation of a new states,particularly an additional one state for the south-east. The confab approved that local governments should no longer be a basis for revenue allocation from the federation account and that only states and the federal government be sharing revenue from the federation account.
