THE NRM OUGHT TO TAKE THE HANDLING OF PRIVATE INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION IN A CIVILIZED WAY May be, a number of Ugandans have not experienced what I have gone through. Today, you cannot be sure that the message you send out to any recipient is received courtesy of the NRM Government. It surprises how you get the right email, but the email does no get where it is supposed to! You get a message purported from one of the people you deal with, when some other party in touch with your email is the one generating it. Uganda Government cannot guarantee to the people of Uganda that this intervention in people’s communication will no be abused. I think Government can do better. Some of us are not the type that can fight a Government, but hoping to silence us through none civilized ways will not help the NRM Government. Today, it is not clear why speeds in many cafes are slow. It is possible that the intervention to monitor our communication is the reason. My simple advice is that Uganda Government needs to be extra careful with people’s communication, because the players imagine that the mandate they have empowers them to do whatever they imagine they can do. But they are wrong.
