THE OHAJI/EGBEMA LOCAL GOVERNMENT PDP RALLY: AN EXPOSITION The exceptional rally held at Ohaji/Egbema local Government of Imo state commenced with yet another courtesy call to the traditional leaders of the region who not only received the PDP entourage with warm hearts but also blessed them for their further ambition. The indigenes were not left out in the welcome full of felicitations and affectations just as the general turnout was something else very extraordinary compared to other rallies. One may not understand it until reminiscence of the fact that the sitting governor has never received such a favourable welcome in the region and according to the indigenes who spoke on the conditions of anonymity said, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is the worst thing that has happened to that region in the last few years. For them this present administration has shown no regard for their region and has stopped at nothing in short changing them. They accused the present governor for dislodging their sons and daughters from Adapalm just as the few workers there do not remember when last they received salaries and eventually he sold it to himself. There was supposed to be a refinery in that region but it never saw the light of the day because of the recklessness of the governor. Also, they accused the governor of using their misfortune for personal gain; the flood money was a case in point, even the amnesty program which was labored for by Hon Sir Emeka Ihedioha just like that of the flood money through Sir GoodLuck Opia were truncated in one way or the other. For them the ISOPADAEC responsibilities to the communities have suffered a terrible set back if not ultimately obliterated. Who can believe it, that the oil producing communities of the state have not seen electricity for almost four years now more or less? The china roads together with the whitewashing of the state city center with which the present administration is known for, practically eludes the people of this region. A visit to the local government as a whole will reveal the indigenes are justified in their anger against this governor. To the extent that this man shows little or no regard to the elites of the community, for instance when Justice Chukwudifu Oputa the father of the music Icon CharlyBoy was alive and sick, this sitting governor never paid a courtesy call, never consulted with him as regards the welfare of the region but as soon as the man died Owelle never went for condolence but was very quick to attend the burial ceremony and of course he received the shocker of his life. The indigenes complained bitterly about the lack of portable and healthy water in their region. The state government has simply forgotten them. “But look at this far away Mbaise man that has nothing in common with us only that he is an Imolites went to Abuja for his constituency but ended up fighting for us, the Ohaji/Egbema Oguta people”, the indigenes proclaimed. Do you know that Sir Emeka Ihedioha brought most the NDDC projects observable in the region, that Chief Ihedioha was the first to pay them a visit after the flood mayhem and went back to Abuja to campaign for a succor for the terribly affected people. Do you know that the governor upon hearing of the allowance from the Federal government hijacked the fund and used as he wanted but never for the good of the people. When they started agitating for the money meant to alleviate the pains, misery and lost, the lying and deceptive governor told them he was using part of it to build a marine university while a little balance was later shared amongst his feeble-minded cronies. Why would a governor who was so supposed to be committed to empowerment of the youths and sustainable development end up sharing money; the answer is very simple, the governor lacks the ingenuity and creativity to re-engineer the people neither did he make any effort towards regaining the farms lost to flood just as there is no precautionary steps to forestall the future occurrence of such a mayhem. In fact without sounding immodest, the tempo and pulse of the people was simply observable and it read one thing CHIEF SIR EMEKA IHEDIOHA IS A TRUSTWORTHY AND CONSIDERATE MAN, SO HE IS OUR GOVERNOR COME FEBUARY 28. What else can one say even the aged women, feeble old men; pregnant women together with nursing mothers defiled the sun and dust to herald the coming of Sir Emeka Ihedioha. When some of them were asked how much they were expecting that made them come out leaving their farms, the unanimous response was; MONEY, NO WE BELIEVE THAT OME NKE AHURU ANYA WILL GIVE US THE SENSE OF BELONGING WE HAVE BEEN YEARNING FOR AND MAY GOD BLESS HIM. WE ALSO PRAY THAT HE SHOULD NOT FORGET US AFTER FEBUARY 28. WE LOVE HIM, HE IS A GOOD MAN UNLIKE THE ONE THAT SAID WE DE DRINK OGOGORO AND SMOKE GUFF. Tears uncontrollably rolled down our checks as we simply prayed immediately ALMIGHTY FATHER IN HEAVEN GIVE YOUR SON SIR EMEKA IHEDIOHA VICTORY IN THIS FORTH COMING ELECTIONS THAT HE MAY SHOW IMOLITES IN GENERAL THAT GOOD GOVERNANCE IS VERY POSSIBLE, THAT HE MAY SHOW THE PEOPLE OF OHAJI/EGBEMA OGUTA PEOPLE IN PARTICULAR WHAT INTELLIGENCE AND LEADERSHIP CAN DO AND THAT THEIR PITIABLE STATE CAN BE SERIOUSLY AMELIORATED. AMEN!! AMEN!! VOTE FOR SIR EMEKA IHEDIOHA FOR THE RE-POSITIONING OF THE OIL COMUNITIES, VOTE FOR SIR EMEKA IHEDIOHA FOR THE BETTERMENT OF LIVES IN IMO STATE.
