THE ORIGINAL KINGS ARMS HOTEL. A little while back somebody posted this picture and there was a conversation discussing what this building was. Nobody knew, and despite no end of Googling on my part and Im sure others, I could find nothing about it. Until a few days ago when I came across an old book that I had forgotten I had. And found it. :-) This was the original Kings Arms Hotel that was demolished and re-built in 1897. This is the building Charles Dickens stayed in whilst visiting Lancaster 1859. Not the current building despite what the blue plaque says. I have spent ages scrolling back through the posts so that I could let the person who posted the original photo know I had found out what it was but without success Im afraid.
