THE POWER OF ‘SELDOM’ Psalm 130:4 ‘but there is forgiveness - TopicsExpress

THE POWER OF ‘SELDOM’ Psalm 130:4 ‘but there is forgiveness with you, therefore you are feared’(NHEB) I was at church yesterday for a prayer meeting and I learnt something marvellous from a 2 year-old boy, Nhyira Dawson: Pastor Elvis Eben-Baffour was talking to all of us when Nhyira started crying. Pastor then said ‘Herh [speaking to Mensimah Dawson-Amoah, Nhyira’s mother], what have you done to the boy, because this one doesn’t like crying’. I am sure most of the other children would have been asked to walk out and finish their crying, because it is A COMMON PRACTICE to see them crying during service, but Nhyira had Pastor as his lawyer since he SELDOM cries. Many things in this world work like the capacitor; if you allow it to store up charges and then you suddenly release it it can produce a much higher voltage than it would have produced without the capacitor [or am I lying, Pastor Ed Dawson-Amoah you are the electrical engineer; please help me out. . .hahaha]. So then, don’t think you are feared (respected) because you are always shouting on your staff (junior siblings). . .you are rather less revered. Don’t think you are most listened to in the group because you are the one who complains the most. In fact it is the opposite: Even God knows in Psalm 130:4 that He is feared because he forgives our wrongs and is saving up his judgement for the JUDGEMENT DAY. That is why God is feared (because he has forgiven us and saved us) and the day of judgement is the most dreaded day for many. [Etheldreda Amega, thanks for sharing this psalm with us at rehearsals on Tuesday. . .I found a lot more in it after reading it myself; it is loaded] How come Jesus got away with getting angry at the temple and beating the sellers? Yes he had the Holy Spirit but also he knew this wisdom; his reputation was ‘a calm, peaceful and wise man’ so no one dared to challenge him face-to-face after such a violent display; even the Pharisees went home with their anger controlled. But Barabas was jailed because that was all he was doing; raging baselessly and robbing people. If you really want your complains (comments), rebukes and actions heard and respected . . .learn to do them SELDOM; save up for the right time else they will be common and without effect.
