THE PRESIDENT LAUNCHES A MORE ROBUST PHASE TWO AGAINST EBOLA FEW WEEKS AGO. He announced to the world. But we are curious to know what happened to both Phase One and Phase Two? As Sierra Leone Loses a fourth Doctor to the Ebola virus, we ask if the Presidents robust phase two action is working!!!! The death is a huge setback to the impoverished Sierra Leone, which is battling the virulent disease amid a shortage of healthcare workers. Did the President not realise he was dealing with the world’s greatest public health disaster? Does he not realise that Ebola is the greatest human public health challenge of all times? Dr Olivet Buck died late Saturday, hours after the World Health Organisation (WHO) said it could not help medically evacuate her to Germany, Sierra Leones chief medical officer Dr Brima Kargbo confirmed to the Associated Press. No wonder we are in this mess, if this is the kind of incompetence on display in State House. Apparently, incompetence seems to reside permanently at State House. STATE HOUSE HAS NOW BECOME THE OFFICIAL RESIDENCE OF INCOMPETENCE IN SIERRA LEONE UNDER PRESIDENT KOROMA. GOD HELP US OH!!!! The Ebola crisis that we are experiencing is not caused by God, neither is it caused by a conspiracy. It is caused by incompetence! Even if one was to assume, it is conspiracy that the disease was created in a lab by people in high places, if we had a competence response, we could have controlled and contained this Ebola nightmare. If we had a real robust response, an intelligent response, a caring response, a President who took a full control from day one, we could have controlled and contained this situation. But because of the high level of incompetence that now resides officially in State House, that is why we are in this mess. A President who never apologises; A President who was slow to sack his most incompetent minister; A President who does not understand that Ebola is serious and he puts together a half hazard, useless policy to prevent it. What happened to phase one? I must ask again? Was it not robust enough? Did you not realise that Ebola is the most serious public health challenge in the world? Have you not seen evidence of what Ebola has done in other countries? How on earth could you not approach it with the most serious and the most robust plan from day one? Your first phase should have been robust and effective. You don’t wait for phase two by which time we would have lost so many lives (nearly 300 lives needlessly). Have you not seen enough evidence Mr President of what Ebola can do? Yes Mr President, we really now realise that incompetence officially resides in State House. State House is now the official residence of incompetence in Sierra Leone. Money is what our people need to rebuild their lives. They are hungry. No one must die of hunger. Public health education would have been more useful. Containment strategy has failed. What we need now is proper surveillance to monitor the pathway of the spread of the virus. That is common sense. Information about the virus. Where is it going? Funds and more Funds for families e.g widows, orphans. NOT FOR YOU OR YOUR MINISTER but I wont bet on that one. Your hero Siaka Steven once said wusai dem tie cow, na dae e go eat. Please Mr President, dont share this needed funds amongst your ministers or family members.
